Fandom History Article

I logged out of tumblr for 24 hours during the recent boycott, and it left me with a lot of time to think about what I would miss most if my blog was gone by the time I tried to log back in. One thing that kept coming to me was the great pieces about fandom history that I often see floating around on my dash. This article is a good example (and also a very heart-warming read about inter-generational fandom friendships):

A 50-year Trekkie bestows Star Trek history upon the next generation: How fandom and fanfiction sparked the galaxy’s most controversial romance By Alissa Smith (alissas1701 on twitter)

It's a bit long but give it a read if you are in the mood, it's worth it.

comments
